Dr. Djavila Ho is a licensed Associate Clinical Psychologist with nearly two decades of experience in clinical practice, organisational leadership, and mental health advocacy. As the Co-executive Director of KAHLE Journey, she is dedicated to promoting trauma-informed approaches within the Caribbean through culturally sensitive interventions, capacity building, research, and advocacy. She also serves as Director of Clinical Supervision and is a Senior Associate Clinical Psychologist at KAHLE Psychotherapy and Assessments, delivering psychotherapy to clients facing trauma and stress-related disorders, and supervision to early-career clinicians. Her practice emphasises the importance of a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approach to effective client care, utilising an integrative approach that incorporates multiple therapeutic modalities.

 

Guided by the belief that mental health is a fundamental human right, her leadership experience spans local and international organisations dedicated to advancing population mental health and resilience. She currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the Jamaican Psychological Society (JamPsych), is a member of the International Council of Psychologists (ICP), serves on the President and Elders Committee of the Caribbean Alliance of National Psychological Associations (CANPA), recently held the position of co-chair of the Global Mental Health Steering Committee (2023-2025) within the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Global Psychology Alliance (GPA) and is an Advisory Board member of the Global Mental Health Action Network (GMHAN).

  

In March 2025, she received the American Psychological Association (APA) Presidential Citation for exceptional leadership of organised psychology in Jamaica and for her many contributions to the Global Psychology Alliance. 

At the heart of Dr. Ho’s work is the commitment to expanding access to high-quality, culturally grounded, trauma-informed mental health care and advancing policies that promote mental wellness across the Caribbean.
